Diarrhoea is defined as <strong>three or more loose stools per day<\/strong> accompanied by other symptoms affecting the gastrointestinal tract. They unfold their damaging effect directly in the gastrointestinal tract by means of <strong>toxins<\/strong>. However, infections with these ETEC strains are usually self-limiting, meaning <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>body excretes the pathogenic germs and their toxins through diarrhoea<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Far more serious problems are caused by <strong>salmonella, shigella, listeria<\/strong> and various types of <strong>campylobacter<\/strong>. In addition to hygiene measures (only eat<strong> cooked or peelable food<\/strong>, drinks only from bottles, etc.), it is particularly advisable to <strong>take probiotics in good time<\/strong> &#8211; i.e. at the beginning of the journey or even a few days beforehand.<\/p><p>Due to regional differences in the <strong>harmful germs<\/strong> that can cause <strong>traveller&#8217;s diarrhoea<\/strong>, a preparation containing several probiotic bacterial strains is preferable to a single bacterial strain: different positive microorganism species can also fight different bad germs. In addition, the large number of <strong>probiotic bacteria<\/strong> also increases the chances that they will colonise the human intestine in the long term and adhere to the <strong>intestinal mucosa<\/strong> to protect against pathogenic species and strengthen it.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-64e0e47 obcs none e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"64e0e47\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d23c570 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d23c570\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Study confirms: Multispecies probiotic prevents traveller's diarrhoea and reduces symptoms<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3d08533 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3d08533\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>A<strong> synbiotic (combination of probiotic and prebiotic)<\/strong> specially developed for long-distance travellers with <strong>7 scientifically tested bacterial strains<\/strong> and a specially coordinated prebiotic combination was tested in an observational study to determine its <strong>ability to prevent the occurrence of traveller&#8217;s diarrhoea<\/strong> and also to reduce existing gastrointestinal symptoms.<\/p><p>Numerous test subjects spent their holidays in <strong>high-risk countries<\/strong> (with more than <strong>50% probability of developing traveller&#8217;s diarrhoea<\/strong>) and<strong> only 12% of probiotic users showed symptoms of traveller&#8217;s diarrhoea<\/strong>.<\/p><p>In <strong>Egypt<\/strong>, the country with the <strong>highest probability of traveller&#8217;s diarrhoea (\u2265 80%)<\/strong>, over 90% of travellers were even protected by the<strong> multispecies probiotic<\/strong>.
